ATSUM for relaxation of upper age in the up-coming Manipur Forest Service-grade-II (assistant conservator of Forest) Manipur Newmai News Network IMPHAL, Oct 22: The All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM) has drawn the attention of the Government of Manipur in the matter pertaining to the relaxation of upper age limit from 30 years to 35 years in the up-coming Manipur Forest Service-grade-II (assistant conservator of Forest) Manipur. The tribal student body expressed its disappointment that many ageing aspirants will lose the opportunity of attempting not even once at the least in one’s life time due to the fact that Manipur Forest Service is hardly conducted in a decade. As a matter of fact, many aspiring candidates have already barred the age limit due to periodical recruitment which in fact is expected to be conducted every year like UPSC. Most significantly in most of the states of India, the upper age limit for appearing in civil services examination has been increased from 35- 40 years and above and as the age limit of the recently conducted MPSC has been relaxed from 30-35 as a onetime measure, Manipur Forest under MPSC may also be relaxed as above, ATSUM information secretary Micah Kamei suggested. The ATSUM leader then appealed that considering the increasing number of educated youth in the state with remote chances for Jobs application due to absence of private sector in the state and irregular conduct of such examination in Manipur, relaxation of upper age limit should be 35 and above. This will certainly generate more opportunities for maximum number of educated youth to participate in the up-coming Manipur Forest Service 2013, Micah Kamei suggested. According to ATSUM, the genuine demand of the sons and daughters of the soil may therefore be kindly considered and do the needful in the larger interest of the educated youths irrespective of all communities living in the hills and plains of Manipur. To this end, the ATSUM is once again constrained to bring the grievances of the aspiring candidates before the state government, Micah Kamei stated.
