ATTEMPTED MURDER – GORBALS, GLASGOW Police Scotland Officers are continuing enquiries and appealing for witnesses after a 26 year-old man was serious assaulted in Gorbals, Glasgow on Saturday 9 November 2013. Around 0340 hours this morning, the injured man came into Gorbals Police Office in Cumberland Street, Glasgow. He was taken by ambulance to the Victoria Infirmary where he is being treated for his injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as critical. Detective Inspector Fergus Hutcheson of Greater Glasgow Division said today: “Officers are currently in the area carrying out door to door enquiries and gathering CCTV footage in an effort to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this crime. “We believe that the man was involved in a disturbance at Commercial Court and this is when he received his injuries. The suspects were both white, aged between mid twenties to thirties. One was wearing dark clothing and the other was wearing a white top. “I would ask anyone who was in the local area around the time the incident took place this morning and witnessed or heard a disturbance, or may have seen the injured man to contact us. “I would like to reassure the local community that our efforts are concentrated on identifying those involved in this incident and bringing them to justice. We have a number of detectives working on this inquiry who are being supported by local uniform officers who will be carrying out additional patrols in the area.
