ATTEMPTED ROBBERY FROM BUSINESS Greensboro, NC (23 January 2014) On January 22, 2014 at approximately 11:00 pm, Officers responded to “University General Store” located at 549 South Mendenhall Street in reference to an attempted armed robbery of the business. Once on the scene, Officers spoke with the clerk who stated that a single suspect entered the store and brandished a knife. The suspect demanded money from the register. The clerk refused to comply. The suspect then fled the store without obtaining any property. The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6’ tall, 30 to 35 years of age, with a slender build, and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket. Most of his face was covered by a ski mask and he was armed with a large knife. There were no injuries in this incident. The investigation is on going at this time.
