ATTENTION ALL 2014 MSHS MARCHING BAND MEMBERS Students interested in a soloist role in the 2014 Marching Band Show will need to upload a video of them performing the solo to YouTube and share this with Mr. Ratliff. Please set the video to unlisted/private and know that Mr. Ratliff will not share the video with anyone other than MSHS band staff. The videos must be uploaded and the link shared via email with Mr. Ratliff no later than midnight, July 10, 2014 to be considered. All soloists will be chosen before the first day of band camp to allow for better assignment of marching drill spots. Do not be terribly concerned with the quality of the camera you are recording with. Most smartphones have a high enough quality to provide you with the recording you need. You want it to be a good representation of your playing but the quality of the camera will not be the determining factor for selection, your musical performance will. The solo sections are as follows: Movement 1 Alto Sax measures 60-70 Movement 2 Flute measures 6-24 Trombone 1 measures 15-36 Trumpet 1 measures 45-49 If you have any questions, feel free to email or call Mr. Ratliff at school.
