Please see the attached flier for more details NICVA – Funding and Fundraising Ulster Hockey is extremely pleased to have the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action (NICVA) presenting a workshop on Funding and Fundraising. The interactive session will use workshops and presentations and give you an opportunity to consider all the possible ways you can maximise your funding and fundraising effort and resources for the greatest return. In particular the session will look at what funders are looking for, best practise when applying and what funding is available to sports clubs. This will be an excellent workshop that with the recent launch of Sport NIs Awards for Sport Grant scheme will no doubt be of great use to every club. Club Leaders – Developing a plan Developing a Plan is being delivered by Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) who are working with Sport Northern Ireland, under the name Club Leaders NI, to help improve business skills in sports clubs by bringing their knowledge and experience to the programme. It is important that clubs have a plan so they know what they are trying to achieve and make sure they are going in the right direction. An effective plan can help you to manage your club better but also demonstrate business understanding and control. This seminar will cover: • What a plan is and why your club should have one • Who you should involve in creating a plan and when you should use it • How to develop a plan for your club using a simple framework • Practical advice on what to include in your plan, how to structure it and pitfalls to avoid • Examples of plans clubs have created and used with success Club Leaders – Cash Flow & Budgeting Cash Flow & Budgeting is being delivered by Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) who are working with Sport Northern Ireland, under the name Club Leaders NI, to help improve business skills in sports clubs by bringing their knowledge and experience to the programme. Cash is king when it comes to financing sports clubs. Club leaders must understand where they generate cash and where it is spent to be able to make informed decisions about their club and to plan for the future. This seminar covers: • What we mean by cash flow and budgeting and why they are important • Why timing is everything and how to improve your cash flow • How to develop a meaningful budget and get the right people involved • How to monitor budgets • What happens when a budget changes Spartan Hockey – Getting Goalkeepers Going Spartan Hockey’s Grahame Mansell-Grace, the current Welsh Goalkeeping Coach and Lead Talent Development Coach for Goalkeepers with England Hockey, will be delivering an awesome and exciting session aimed at your under 14 goalkeepers. The session will look at a variety of innovative skills, drills and equipment that you can use with your goalkeepers at our club or school.
