ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS OF THE WORLD FAMOUS OTR PING PONG LEAGUE Below please find the results from last Thursdays spirited battles in the Official Rhinegeist Ping Pongatorium. Per approved procedures, trained monkeys and hamsters worked diligently through the wee hours of the night, tabulating results, double-checking, and straining their beady, laser-like little eyes on the hand-scrawled scoresheets in order to bring to you these results. In order to ensure the veracity of the information contained herein, the accounting firm of Laventhal & Horwath has been retained to audit the results. If you believe a score or tabulation was reflected in error, please direct your comments/concerns to our Board of Directors, in writing, via U.S. mail, where they will be addressed in a perfunctory manner. With well nigh 40 matches in the books, old timers will harken back wistfully...mistily even...to our leagues salad days in the upstairs of Grammers. And thats what we have here, except...um...one of the tables is not spray-painted bronze, and the tables are not held together with coasters, clamps and masking tape. Notwithstanding these omissions, we here at the leagues global HQ in Sao Paolo are always looking for new ways to make this the bestest, pongiest, beer-drinkingest league around. As such, we will be adding the delightful, whimsical element of music (musica!) to the mix. While my old boombox is apparently in an Airstream trailer in Nashville, I still have some other options to bring an array of mellifluous tunes to the pongatorium. So...well....theres that.
