ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS: The Apartments at the Venue will be enforcing Alabama State Laws regarding Handicapped Parking Spaces. If you are parked in a handicapped parking space without a handicapped parking permit, your car will be towed. Management has discussed this issue with the Valley Police Department and we are NOT required to give a 48 Hour Notice. Please be respectful of your neighbors that need these parking spaces. In the state of Alabama, people who meet certain criteria are eligible for a handicapped parking permit. This gives them the right to park in designated spaces closer to the businesses they are visiting. In order to qualify for handicapped parking, drivers or passengers must be able to demonstrate that their ability to walk is impaired. There are severe penalties for parking in a handicapped parking space without a handicapped parking permit. PENALTIES FOR MISUSE: Anyone who parks in a handicapped space without a valid permit is guilty of a Class B misdemeanor and subject to a fine of up to $1000, a sentence of up to 6 months in jail or both. A person who parks in a handicapped space with an expired permit is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to 3 months in the county or municipal jail.
