ATTENTION ALL VOLUNTEERS WHO WORK WITH MINORS AT PH!! If you or your child who works in the nursery have not yet taken your on-going training for this year, 2014, please continue reading... As you all probably know by now, especially if you have served for over a year, Prayer House requires all volunteers who work with minors to take continuing education (a reminder course) every calendar year. This year, we have moved everything to the internet including our training videos. So you have the option to watch the videos at home and be done with it or to come in to the church for the training as we have done in previous years. However, because we now have the on-line option, we are only doing the training here at the church ONCE. If you miss it, you will have to take the training on-line which is lengthier. The training here at the church will be Monday night, November 17th, at 6:30pm in the C.W. Playhouse and should be done no later than 8pm. THIS IS YOUR ONE AND ONLY OPPORTUNITY! If you do not have access to a computer, this is your opportunity to get it done (though we will still need to get you signed up on a computer here at the church that night so we can run your background check again with the new system.) Now, if you PREFER to do this on your own at home, then below is the directions for doing so. The deadline to get it done is DECEMBER 14th! I need everyone done before the Christmas break so I can make sure we are all complete and done for the year. Thank you, everyone. (Obviously, if you do not wish to continue ministering to minors, you can disregard this e-mail. If you are currently serving, please reply and let us know as soon as possible though, so we can make arrangements to cover your position.) Start by going to prayerhouseag.org (click the link below) and clicking the 5th tab at the top of the home page titled, “Ministry Opportunities.” (This is above the big picture.) 2. At the bottom of that page you will see another link. This is for getting your background check run which everyone needs to do again this year, so go ahead and click that link and fill out the virtual form. (You will not need to fill out previous residences but more information is helpful. You also do not need to put in your DL#.) 3. Once you complete the first page of information you will come to an authorization screen. Read it as carefully as you wish and then fill out the box at the bottom with your full name and click “SUBMIT.” (Don’t forget to click the “Agree” box.) 4. Once you have submitted the form you will need to keep an eye on the e-mail address that you supplied on the form. You should receive an e-mail with another link in it that will contain the on-line videos that you need to watch for the training. (This “invitation” to take the training is sent after your background check is completed by me on the web-site. I should have it done within 24 hours easily, maybe even within the hour.) 5. After watching the videos you will be given an on-line test which you need to take and submit by following the process all the way to its completion. When the test is completed, I will receive your final score on it and you will be approved for yet another year of service. (I believe if you do not obtain at least a 60% on the test it will make you take it again until you pass.)
