ATTENTION: ANSWERS AND NEWS ON ACCOMMODATION IN UNIZIK Once again, I am Muruako Emmanuel saying many congratulations to the newly admitted proud, indelible and great giants. WELCOME! I know a lot of you are currently eager to start rushing down to school to start processing your admission. Well, that’s right and nice but on a personal opinion I would wait till next week Monday if I were you as clearance has not yet begun. After admission, what follows next is clearance and accommodation quest. Questions are already being asked by many of you about the best possible place to live in consideration of many factors amongst which is price, comfort and security. Mind you, your success here is like 90% dependent on your choice of lodge. I will do you the honor of knowing about accommodation in UNIZIK based on personal experience and research. Be reminded however that in making your choice you must first ask and answer this questions by yourself; 1. What kind of family do I come from? Rich/poor, disciplined/anything goes. 2. What is my aim on campus: succeed/fail 3. What kind of person do I want o be tomorrow? Bad/good 4. What is my discipline level? Easily influenced/ not 5. Can I stay with someone without problems? Yes/no 6. Do I want to be a victim of campus violence and vices? Yes/no 7. Etc. Now that you are done answering this questions, you should know that Unizik is divided into Temporary site, Permanent Site and other places. For what is worth, the V.C. prefers all things to happen in Permanent site where his eagle’s eyes can watch and protect through the efforts of his security operatives. Other places are Amansea, Regina, Eke-Awka side etc. Temp-site is characterized with fun, flexing and enjoyment. Permanent site has all of this plus safety, proximity to school, conducive and academic friendly. Down to business; SCHOOL HOSTEL The school hostel is made up of female and male hostel. OTHER PLACES You are free to explore accommodation outside any of the desired places but do well to inquire about the security most importantly about where you desire to live. You should be informed that cost of living outside is rather on a high side and that has being the greatest challenge of every Zikite. Not to worry, efforts are already on going at reducing it and I am contributing my own by liaising with appropriate authorities on the way forward plus fully deploring the mass media to lend a voice to the struggle. You too can house someone in need, share a room with another to reduce the rate of unavailability of cheap rooms and the rush, hand your room over o an incoming student while graduating plus using other means possible. And to the incoming ones, remember where you live those not show the strength of your wealth, it is in the size of your brain so please keep away from the banned hostels by the Comrade Cico, Queen, Okigbo and Ifesi led administration. Meanwhile, I have arranged with some agents to collect only 1,000 naira from you as mobilization fee and ensure that they give you rooms of your choice and charge not more than 5,000 naira for agent fee. This is to avoid multiple payments and double agents business. Also, all admitted students who have no place to check in while waiting for an accommodation can contact me and members of my team as we are ready to give you shelter till you get yours (male/ female).
