ATTENTION ASB FANS!!! Turn your volume up and watch this....how cute is this guy?! The story of Harry...I got the message that Rotz had a Saddlebred and it was set for shipping to slaughter that same week. I went in information mode.... Pics? History? Price? How long to decide? These horses dont have the luxury of getting picked apart. Its either live or die. We have to make very quick decisions based on very little information. I shared him out but with little or no interest until Annika stepped up to pay his ransom. I still needed a home. The stars aligned for this guy as I went to check my messages and get to figuring something out when a new message appeared from someone willing to invest in the journey of what a rescue would entail. Totally, selflessly and without hesitation or expectation offered to take on one of these cases. The Saddlebred with dreads immediately popped into my mind and she said yes! I got to work right away arranging everything. When I found a private hauler to bring him down he was to meet Rotz at New Holland and get him off the trailer there. That morning I checked in, Rotz was at the cattle sale there and it was hard to hear but I could not mistake him when I heard the numbers got mixed up and the horse didnt make it. I was so worried because I knew the chances were good he absolutely could have been on the other trailer. I think he honestly felt bad about the mix up and let my guy go pick up at his farm without him being there which I heard doesnt typically happen. I held my breath and waited. I finally got the call about 2 hours later. He said he walked in and among the crowd of horses there popped a lone high head...a saddlebred head. Huge thanks to Susan who has already done an amazing job with this guy, including paying it forward to help another one or even two horses in need next time! It truly takes a Team...but why am I still talking... I think Harry says it all. Thank you all for letting me be a part of this...#makingadifference #teamamericansaddlebreds
