ATTENTION!!! ATTENTION!!! ATENTION!!! A clarion call has been made to the members of the general public, civil society organizations, NGO and the good people of Edo State to please join in the protest led by members of Edo State Civil Society Organization against the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for failure to ameliorate the plight of the people of Niger Delta region in line with the existing mandate and law that establish the commission... It is sardonic and inhuman on the part of NDDC to launch a campaign of anti-development against the People of Niger Delta region despite the huge amount of resources cum money that is been allocated to the commission on a monthly basses to develop the region.. We are aware that the commission has failed in its mandate to ameliorate the plight of the people in the region, which have push so many people in the region into the back water of economic decadence as a result of the inability of the NDDC to carry out its mandate and responsibility as saddled on them by the act that establish the Commission (NDDC) to carry out development in the Niger Delta region and now that they have failed, we have a responsibility to collectively resist the commission ... NDDC Edo state is our major focal point as most project done by NDDC Edo state is either not started, uncompleted, not up to specification or totally abandoned by the commission even when huge some of money must have been approve for such project to be executed... The resultant of the abandoned project posed a great threat to the lives and property of people in most territory where the unfinished project is situated in Edo state... People can no longer sleep with their two eyes close during the raining season because of the fear of erosion... A classical example is the uncoordinated and unfinished road construction work done by CEASAR CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, a contractor to NDDC that was awarded with the contract to construct Erediauwa road in Benin City, has done nothing but a failed and uncompleted project that has in return pose a great threat to the lives and property of the people in the area instead of ameliorating the plight of the people to at least near a state of eldorado... Amadasun/Yogie Hotel roads project in the Oluku axis of Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State is one of many other nightmare caused by NDDC Edo state against the people living in the area. Investigation concerning the above abandoned road construction project revealed that the contractor who got the job moved to site in November/December 2012 and moved very fast with the job. After constructing a culvert in a T-junction linking Amadasun and Yogie Hotels roads in the Oluku locality and after laying of asphalt close to the culvert, the contractor abandoned the job and moved his earth moving equipments outside the locality close to Christmas period in 2012. Since that time the roads project has become a white elephant project with no head way.. There are many such project around all conner of the state abandoned by NDDC and there is urgent need for the youth, men, women, boys, girl, and parent to come out and support our protest slated for tomorrow 31 of may 2014 against the NDDC and the venue to kick start the protest remains Erediawa junction upper sokpoba road Benin city Edo state.. We have a responsibility to collectively condemn and declare CABOODLE REGETAMENTAL against NDDC, it anti people strategy and corruption!!! For an injustice any were, is a threat to justice every where...
