ATTENTION AZ FRIENDS: *** Katies Wish(https://facebook/GrantKatiesWish) presents the 3rd Annual LoveBug Benefit in support of Robin Afinowich.https://everribbon/lovebug2014 ***** This event will be on August 03,starting at 11 am,and the game will begin at 1pm. The location will be at Chase Field 401 E. Jefferson St. Phoenix, AZ 85004 arizona.diamondbacks.mlb/ari/ballpark/index.jsp Tickets are $50 and include the game ticket, a t-shirt, light food and beverage, access to a silent auction, a raffle ticket, and a free skin cancer screening In 2012, some friends coordinated a fundraiser to help Katie and I deal with medical costs, treatment, loss of wages, etc. They hosted “The Inaugural LoveBug Benefit” (Katie’s nickname was Bug). We raised over $15,000 that day, but in addition to that, Katie was showered with support from friends, family and strangers. The effect it had on her and her outlook on her situation was unbelievable. In 2013, we granted Katie’s wish to continue to spread Melanoma awareness. Although she wasn’t there physically, we hosted it again in her honor. This time the beneficiary was Katie Wagner, a 17 year old girl that was dealing with her own battle against cancer. We raised just over $10,000 for the family. They raved about the support they got through that event. We are doing it again in 2014 for Robin Afinowich(robinyoga). Visit everribbon/lovebug2014 for a breakdown of her story. Robin is an unbelievable woman and a mother of two remarkable boys. We are excited to celebrate her this year. 100% of what we raise through this will go directly to Robin. I’m not a non-profit, so there isn’t a tax ID. This is all done just because it’s something we can do to help someone in a time they may not be willing to ask for it. Funds are raised in three ways: 1) Tickets - We host the event at a D-backs game in the Legends Suites (this year’s event is on August 3). Tickets are $50 and include the game ticket, a t-shirt, light food and beverage, access to a silent auction, a raffle ticket, and a free skin cancer screening (My dermatologist in Phoenix donates his time to give everyone a look over during the game. It’s my own personal requirement that we all are safe and take care of ourselves.). We have a limited number of seats. 2) Donations – We understand not everyone can get to Phoenix, so we’ve set up an opportunity to help through donations. We encourage forwarding this site on to anyone you know if you are comfortable doing so. 3) Silent Auction/Raffle – We will host a silent auction and raffle during the game. * The tickets for the event are limited because our network for Katies Wish has grown so much in the last couple of years. If youd like to purchase tickets, please let me know soon so that I can reserve them for you. One of our goals for the benefit this year is to increase the online donations. These will go directly to Robin, and monetary support is a close second to the support shell receive from friends, family, and strangers on the day of the event. The silent auction has proven a lot of success for the benefit. Donations can include anything from hotel stays and restaurant certificates to spa packages and sports memorabilia.
