ATTENTION BOATERS: be aware that debris has moved from the Rio Grande into the lake, and that there has not been much wind and wave action to disperse it to the shorelines lately. Todays winds are changing that. We are monitoring the situation. Cochiti is a NO WAKE LAKE. If visible debris is encountered, it should not be considered unsafe, nor difficult for any boater to maneuver around. This is simply another negative effect of the 2011 Las Conchas Fire, where 154,000 acres of the nearby Jemez Mountains burned.
