ATTENTION COMPETITORS - quick rant...please read!!! In the past two weeks we have picked up three different competitors who were working with a coach, but due to their lack of trust in the safety of their programs, they are now working with me. Please, no matter WHO your coach is...make sure they are putting your HEALTH and SAFETY as their #1 priority. Competing should be fun. It shouldnt be a situation where you are depriving yourself to the point where your quality of life is diminished. If your work, relationships, family, etc are suffering as a result of your diet and training regimen...then you need to re-evaluate what you are doing and get your priorities in check. Do NOT allow the your prep to consume you. We only have one life, one body, once chance at this...so be SMART about it. Remember, the judges opinions only matter ONE DAY out of the year....but YOUR opinion matters the other 364 days. Think about it. Dont lose sight of who you are and whats most important in your life. Your health, your friends, your family, your job...those should all take precedence over everything else. Stay grounded, stay humble, and keep yourself educated. The world of competing can be an incredible time for self reflection, understanding and growth...but only if you take your blinders off and allow yourself to ENJOY the journey and see the bigger picture :) Of course its fun to win. But guess what? Ive NEVER won. Ive NEVER gotten a 1st place trophy (only 2nd, 3rd, 8th, and 14th)...NEVER took an Overall trophy home...but I STILL became and IFBB Pro...I STILL became an Optimum Nutrition sponsored athlete...and I have STILL made the most incredible friends...made the most amazing memories... and married the most incredible man as a result of my fitness journey. And I never jeopordized my morals, values, health, friends or family in the process. There are SOOOOO many great coaches/trainers out there...so make sure you find one who you trust 100%...and has your best interest at heart. Stay away from cookie cutter coaches who put all their clients on a one size fits all program. We are all unique, we all have different needs/goals, and you should always be treated as an INDIVIDUAL. So please do your homework when picking a competition coach. No matter if its with us or someone else...just make sure you trust your gut and dont be afraid to ask questions. Do whats right for YOU. The end.
