ATTENTION: ENGINEERING GRADUATES JOB OPPORTUNITY: Fitter and Turner Remuneration: R300000 - R320000 per year Cost to company Location: Lamberts Bay Education level: Matric Job level: Mid Reference: #AK Fitter&T Job description The above-mentioned position, reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, has become available in the engineering department at a French Fry Plant in Lamberts Bay, approximately 280 km from Cape Town, on the West Coast. Key job outputs -Mechanical repair and servicing of production equipment in a food processing plant -Rebuilding of gearboxes, conveyer systems and packing machines -Fitting and alignment of pumps -Welding, fitting and basic turning -Adherence to documented procedures and controls -Adherence to health and safety standards -Reporting of defects and potential failures of production and engineering equipment -Assistance with technical projects, i.e. rebuilding or modification of production equipment -Availability to perform reasonable duties which are outside the normal scope of work, if required -Working shifts, alternate on standby for callout duty after hours -Working overtime as and when required Requirements -Knowledge, skills, attributes and qualification -Good communication and interpersonal skills -Strong team player -Attention to detail -Good time management skills -Energetic and good performance under pressure, without compromising on quality and standards -Excellent planning and organizing ability – to complete jobs within time limits and at required standard -Ability to use a lathe -Experience of motor-gearbox combination drives, packaging equipment, belt conveyors, steam installations and pumps -Experience with food processing equipment and a refrigeration plant -Trade test as fitter and turner with at least five years’ experience To apply, e-mail your CV to: [email protected]
