ATTENTION: FRIENDS!!!! The Lagos State Ministry of Health yesterday clinically confirmed the 1st case of Ebola virus in the state-in a 40yr old Liberian quarantined in a hospital in the state.It is time for us to wake up to the reality that we must begin to take necessary preventive measures to reduce and stop the spread of this deadly virus in our country.I want us to know that staying away from the hospital where the victim of the virus is will not in any way stop its spread among us. Whoever the virus came into the country through,obviously sat in the plane with other Nigerians,and also passed through airport officials. Liberians basically greet by hand shaking and hugs, so you cant tell how many people he/she must have greeted while coming into Lagos. Therefore, lets begin to take the following preventive measures, rather than avoiding the said hospital:- 1)Please have a personal hand sanitizer and use it as frequently as possible (every 30 minutes).2)Do not buy and eat any fruit directly without washing it first very well.3)For now, you might want to stay away from eating any meat that you do not know its source, most especially our lovely Suya. 4)Try not to put your hands into your mouth without using a sanitizer first (for those of us that bite our nails we need to consciously stop for now). 5)Avoid unnecessary hand shaking for now,or if not avoidable,immediately after, use your sanitizer.6) Unlike HIV, Ebola can be spread through contact with body sweat,saliva, and nasal secretions so take caution when you sit in the danfo buses in Lagos or when you want to kiss.7)Avoid eating any meat from apes e.g monkeys and contacts with bats.8)Bathe as often as you can.9)Prepare your meats by yourself, if possible.10)Lastly ensure you get your bottle of hand sanitizer today.A trusted and tested brand that kills over 99.9% of all germs is the Forever Hand Sanitizer.
