ATTENTION HIKER TRASH: As some of you know, in just a few weeks - TopicsExpress

ATTENTION HIKER TRASH: As some of you know, in just a few weeks I will be embarking on an adventure of a lifetime. On April 24th I will leave the east coast and I don’t intend on returning until the autumn leaves fall here in Baltimore. I will be spending the time in between attempting to thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail, a.k.a. the PCT. As you all know - this national scenic trail consists of approximately 2,665 miles, runs through three states and spans from Mexico to Canada. It has taken a lot of overtime at work, hundreds of dollars in gear and countless hours planning in order for me to feel prepared for this journey. And yet, it is still not enough. There is one more thing that I need in order to make this successful: the support from you. Now more than ever I need the support from my fellow hikers. What I would like most would be if you could donate to my cause. During my trip I will be raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association. Alzheimers is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking, and behavior. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time, becoming severe enough to interfere with daily tasks. I work daily with wonderful people who are unfortunately afflicted with Alzheimers disease. My grandmother also suffers from this disease and it has slowly progressed over the years. They are each so stunningly beautiful and inspire me in ways they will never know. They have brightened my life and I would like to return the favor. That is why I have decided to use my thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail this year as a way to raise funds for The Alzheimers Association. Alzheimers has no current cure, but treatments for symptoms are available and research continues. With your donation of two cents per mile we can both work together to help find a cure. To donate please visit: hikefor/Amber/PCT/2014 I cant wait to meet you all on the trail!
