ATTENTION PARENTS IN NEW YORK STATE! You NEED to contact your legislatures and strongly oppose this bill! NYS Bill 497A will amend public health law in New York to allow any health care practitioner to provide certain immunizations to children 11 years old or younger without the consent or knowledge of their parents or guardian. Under the bill, these health care practitioners could administer vaccines, such as the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, to any person under the age of 18 without the parents even knowing about it. Assembly Bill 497A has been placed on the Assembly Health Committee agenda. This means that the bill could be voted on by the committee at any time. Contact your assemblyman and Speaker Sheldon Silver TODAY in opposition to this bill!
