ATTENTION PARENTS OF ART STUDENTS IN GLOUCESTER COUNTY. If you have a young artist in your family who is in the public, private and home schooled systems, there is a great opportunity for him or her to be part of the Gloucester County Art Student Show sponsored by the Phoenix Art Group. This show will be held at Gloucester Arts on Main from February 8th through the 28th during normal gallery hours of 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday. Instructions and application forms are available at Gloucester Arts on Main, the Gloucester County Public Library lobby and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism. The final day to submit you entries is February 1st at 6:00 pm at Gloucester Arts on Main. This show is a great opportunity for the young artists of Gloucester County to show share their art with the Gloucester Community as well as giving them a chance to see what their fellow students are doing. In this show, they can express their creativity and individuality - all such important attributes to encourage in our society. The Phoenix Art Group, who sponsors this show, is a non-profit corporation dedicated to helping art students from Gloucester County. We do this through shows of this nature as well as collaborating with other Gloucester County efforts which encourage the arts like Art Camp sponsored by the Gloucester Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism and the Cook Foundation. Using select pieces of the art submitted to the Gloucester County Arts Student Show, we illustrate next years calendar which is sold to raise money for a qualified senior from Gloucester County who wished to continue his/her art studies at the college level. The 2014 Gloucester County Art Student Scholarship Calendar are still available at Gloucester Arts on Main for a donation of $15 to the Phoenix Art Group. We hope that you will be part of our activities dedicated to encouraging the young artists in Gloucester County. Times and dates of when the show is open to the public will be announced in the local papers and on the radio. The Phoenix Art Group would like to invite all the young artists in Gloucester County to submit their art/craft to our show this February so they can have a chance to be part of the 2015 Gloucester County Art Student Scholarship Calendar - and maybe win the Peoples Choice Award!
