ATTENTION TO ALL THOSE POSTING Channel 13...Facebook Policy Changes...: Everyone that created a Facebook account signed or accepted Facebooks terms of use and privacy policies. In no form or fashion does Facebook own your photos, posts, information, etc. They do however have permission to use this information which is granted to them by those same terms and policies you the account holder agreed to when you first created your account. You may modify your privacy settings but otherwise by agreeing to their terms of use you are granting them non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free, license to use any content you post in this PUBLIC forum. Users cannot retroactively negate the privacy and copyright terms or unilaterally alter or contradict any new privacy terms that Facebook dictates by simply posting a legal notice in your status. If or when you delete your content or account this license for Facebook to use said content is void unless your content is shared with others and they have not deleted it. Again Facebook does not own any account holders content but it has the right to use anything not protected in the privacy and application settings, in other words anything posted as public is fair game. Any agreements made between the company and account holders is not diminished or negated by Facebooks public status. Furthermore citing the Uniform Commercial Code is pointless, the UCC provision pertains to Contracts of Sale within the United States, you are not entering into a contract of sale with Facebook. There is no Code of Intellectual Property. It is Berne Convention not Berner Convention. And the Rome Statute is an international treaty that deals with international crimes e.g. war crimes, genocide etc. Please if you have made it this far through my rant please, please, stop posting this Channel 13 Facebook policy changes, it is a hoax, a scare tactic most likely propagated by conspiracy theorists. Do your research before you post something or at least use common sense and ask yourself why posting a legal warning in your FACEBOOK STATUS would have any real legal ramifications, especially when you have been using Facebook and abiding by their privacy terms and agreements for YEARS! Thank you, end rant.
