ATTENTION UFO Disclosure people and Tweetstormers! If you really want to get US Congressional hearings concerning UFOs you should be focusing all your attention on this guy. Congressman Lamar S. Smith Chairman of The House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. Thats the only place where UFO hearings would likely take place and the Committee Chairman is the only person that can call for hearings. President Obama can not call for Committee Hearings in Congress. Its a separate branch of government. There are three branches of government; the Executive branch, the Legislative branch and the Judicial branch. Its kind of one of the foundations of our democracy, its called the separations of powers. President Obama is head of the Executive branch so he has little to do with Congress except when he wants to get a bill passed, he wants to veto a bill he doesnt like or he has to give a State of the Union address. So a petition to President Obama isnt likely to get anywhere, even if you were to obtain 100,000 signatures the response would likely be what Ive just told you. Its also pretty useless to try to bring awareness to separate members of Congress unless they are on the Committee that Ive just described. Committee members can recommend hearings on certain topics to the Committee Chairman. But these people arent likely to listen to you unless you are a constituent of their district or a big money donor to their election campaign. So there you have it. Focus on Congressman Lamar Smith.
