ATTN CANE CORSO BREEDERS AND/OR RESCUES: CANE CORSO SERVICE DOG OPPORTUNITY -> I was contacted again last week by a long-time friend, Daniel De La Rosa, who donates his time training service dogs for Service Dogs 4 Servicemen (SD4SM). SD4SM is a non-profit organization that places fully-trained service dogs with veterans, at no cost to them, for PTSD support and mobility assistance. Since his first experience working with a Cane Corso for a veteran was so successful (thank you, Christine & CH Zeus), he is looking for another Cane Corso to train for a veteran. He specified a young Cane Corso, approximately 1-1.5 years old, with no gender preference. He is open to rescues and rehomes. Breeders – maybe you have a rehome? Or a young CC that did not “turn out” for the show ring and you would like to donate him/her to SD4SM? Obviously, this CC will need to be very special due to the training and work involved in being a service dog. He or she will also need to be on the “less protective” side of that spectrum because of the veteran’s medical condition, which includes blackouts, and will require a dog open to allowing emergency personnel approach the veteran if unconscious.
