ATTN LADIES: LETS TALK WEDDINGS!!! HELP!!!! I always dreamed of the big production of a wedding but Robert and I have decided we do NOT want to go into debt over our wedding. My mother has generously offered funds and we have some to put in as well but that amount still pales in comparison to the $25k that The Knot reports the average American couple spends on a wedding. I keep flip-flopping between a destination wedding, (for example Sandals does a wedding for the B & G and 8 people and then we would already be in paradise for a honeymoon) the full-on ceremony and reception, or just a really nice ceremony with just family and then a small get-together for just those people after. A friend even suggested a ceremony for JUST Rob and I and then a party at a later time for everyone. I just cant make up my mind. I am TERRIFIED that no matter what I decide I will have regrets. I dont want to spend all the money and then not even enjoy it. However, I am scared if I skimp I will regret it down the road. I just want to marry Robert and live happily ever after. Why does this have to be so HARD?! So, who had a big wedding and who had a small one? Do you regret it? What would you have done differently? If you are comfortable answering; what did you spend, total? I am NOT willing to compromise on a dress, I want an actual wedding gown no matter what kind of event I have. Photography and Videography is also very important to me. Thanks!
