ATTN: if your child is on Abilify take them off of it. as many of you may know that my son has been having some issues we thought that maybe he had a stroke well it turned out that it was a overdose from abilify. the daily dose of abilify that was perscribed by his doctor of 15mg at bedtime. Meaning The half-life of a medication is the time it takes for the amount of the medication in the body to be reduced by 50%. The mean elimination half-life for Abilify (aripiprazole) is about 75 hours. Typically it takes 5 half-lives for a medication to get out of your system.. Which means every day we gave him his daily dose he still had 50 percent of the one from the day before so it built up on him. this was what my son had This medication may rarely cause a condition called tardive dyskinesia. In some cases, this condition may be permanent. Tell your doctor right away if you develop any unusual uncontrolled movements (especially of the face, mouth, tongue, arms, or legs). This medication may rarely cause a very serious condition called neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS). Get medical help right away if you have any of the following symptoms: fever, muscle stiffness/pain/tenderness/weakness, severe tiredness, severe confusion, sweating, fast/irregular heartbeat, dark urine, change in the amount of urine. The same thing as a someone that has had a stroke. Think twice about putting your kids on it and thank you GOD for my son being okay without any long term problems.
