AU TO AID MALAWI FLOOD VICTIMS …as UN airlifts food to flooded areas The African Union has joined several other organisations such as the United Nations (UN) in answering President Peter Mutharika’s call for international intervention by committing to helping Malawi flood victims with humanitarian support. In a statement released on Friday January 16, 2015 , AU chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said the organisation would give the “highest priority to providing modest humanitarian assistance” to Malawi “as soon as possible”.
