AUDITION NOTICE: “Transitions: Real Life Stories From the Streets of Cambridge” Who We Are Looking For: Actors, dancers and singers: Five males; strong acting, singing; varied ages 22-55 Two females; strong dancers/singers; 25-30 About the Audition: Sat 9/27 12pm - 2pm at Improv Boston (40 Prospect St, Cambridge, MA) You will be asked to: Sing a song. Please come prepared with a song that showcases your range and abilities. No music necessary- we want to hear it acapella. Read. We’ll hand out some individual pieces from the script. You’ll have a few minutes to familiarize yourself with it, and then we’ll hear you read it aloud. We may ask you to read it a few different ways. Move. Please wear comfortable clothing. There will be a warm up and then some simple movement exercises. PLEASE NOTE: If you are a dancer, please indicate this in your email when you reserve your spot. Please indicate your level of experience. If you have a short piece that showcases your abilities please come prepared to perform it. Will also accept video submissions of a recent performance. About The Show: “Transitions” is a show consisting of the essays, monologues, poetry, songs, and general musings of residents of shelters in the city of Cambridge enrolled in the Stories Without Roofs Project. The performance will entail song, rap, spoken word, dialogue, and dance. The production will be directed by Misch Whitaker, assistant directed by Marcy Braidman, and will feature music by Marissa Wahkuna and choreography by Nailah Randall-Bellinger. It is a Ministry of Theater production. The show is slated to open on November 8th and will have three performances (Friday night, Saturday night, and a Sunday matinee) with a potential for extension into the next weekend. Each performance will feature a talk-back with the authors of the pieces.
