AUGUST 17, 2013 (SATURDAY) "IOC REJECTS IOA’s OBJECTIONS ON CHARGE-SHEETED PERSONS" International Olympic Committee has refused to change its stance on barring charge-sheeted persons from contesting Indian Olympic Association - IOA elections. In a statement today the committee said objections to it will amount to undermining the Olympic charter. The committee has sent the revised draft Constitution of the Indian Olympic Association, which bars corruption-tainted persons from contesting IOA elections. IOA had objected to this provision saying that Indian law will prevail on these matters.
