AUNT NELL Yesterday I stopped by a friends office in West Columbia to personalize a few Santa Claus prints I had sold there. When I arrived, a birthday party was going on for their customer and friend- Aunt Nell. It was her 107th birthday and she still lives in her own home. A crowd had gathered in the conference room where cake was served. Then she was asked what her secret was to living so long. I dont know, she said. Certainly there must be something you do that keeps you so young... Well, I do like liquor. What kind, someone asked. Jim Beam. After everyone stopped laughing I asked her what she likes to mix it with. I drink it straight, she replied. I told her it was nice to have met her and was glad I could be there for her birthday party. Then I went out to the car and brought back a Santa print for her and signed it- Happy 107th! Merry Christmas, Aunt Nell. Looks like a memorable Christmas already. Merry Christmas to all my facebook friends this year!
