On-Line Registration Starts - March 3rd, 2014 8:30a.m. Community-based Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program Classes are 120 hours, 15 consecutive weekdays in length. Classes run from 7:30 am until 4:00pm each day. Perfect attendance is required for successful completion of the class. Information Session: Any interested individual must register for and attend a Nursing Assistant Training Program Mandatory Information session. Sessions are held approximately 2 months prior to the start of each class. See the table below for the dates of the next information session and the date the on-line registration to attend starts. Registration is limited to the first 120 registrants. At the time of Registration, you will receive Confirmation, including the location of the Information Session. To register online for the Information Session: Go to aurora.org Click on the tab classes and events Search by keyword nursing assistant or by event date. Complete online registration form and request email confirmation Each session will be approximately 1 hour long. It is only necessary to attend one information session per calendar year. Participants may check-in at the session starting 1/2 hour prior to the session beginning. Photo ID will be required for admittance into the information session. No late arrivals will be accepted. There is no childcare provided for the sessions, and with limited seating available, children will not be able to attend with applicants. Please bring a pen and notepad to the session. At the end of each session, participants will be provided with detailed information including an application form and instructions. Only those who attend an information session will be considered for the CNA Training Class. Application deadline for classes: The application deadline listed below. On-Line Registration Starts - March 3rd, 2014 Information Session Date and Start Time - March 20th, 2014 - 5:00pm Application Deadline on this date at 4pm - 04/03/2014 Class Dates - June 10th - June 30th and July 29th - August 18th Application/participant assessment: All application elements will be reviewed. Applicants meeting guidelines will be invited in for a personal interview. The decision for selection into the Nursing Assistant Training class is based upon information provided in the application, in conjunction with a personal interview. Factors considered are: Applicant response to interview questions. Academic achievement Employment history Knowledge of healthcare and the Nursing Assistant role Compliance with all application requirements Perceived communication skills, motivation, ability to follow instructions and ability to provide passionate patient care. The most qualified applicants will be selected for admission into the class. Participant Notification: Applicants will be notified of their acceptance into the Nursing Assistant Training class. The participants who are offered a space in the class must submit to all required background checks (including out of state background checks for those who have resided outside the state of WI in the last 3 years), employment verifications, immunization record verification and influenza vaccination (when applicable). To participate in the class, there is a $500.00 classroom fee, made payable by money order only and due the first day of class. In addition, there will be a $115 testing fee for state certification, made payable by money order or credit card ($118.75 if paid by MasterCard or Visa), also due the first day of class.
