AUSBUY recently received a call about the amount of imports on our shelves that do not meet our standards, and sale of our land and businesses so we lose control of these assets. The caller had not contacted us previously. There is a saying “if it is to be, it’s up to me”. Two words define what AUSBUY does: EMPOWERMENT and CHOICE. We cannot tell people how they should spend their hard earned money, but if people are EMPOWERED with information that outlines the consequences of their decisions then they will make CHOICES that support our owned and our future. Since 1991 AUSBUY has been the only organisation to warn that if we do not look after our owned, then we will lose control of the assets which generations of Australians have built. We now own no global food brands. Others represent our interests off shore. How can we pay off our national debt if our assets are owned off shore? How will we secure jobs and skills here? Where are decisions really made? Where do the profits really go before tax? We see first-hand the impact of policies that appear to give priority to off shore interests citing our “international obligations” or “open for business”, or sign Free Trade Agreements which are rarely “fair” to Australia, and not consider the consequences, or recognise that other countries look after their own first. This has been happening for decades, but is getting to a critical point in a world that recognises the value of what our people have created. We also see first-hand how many of our owned businesses survive because they do what they have always done: they are productive, competitive, innovative, product quality and integrity is important and their people matter. In these difficult times we should not abrogate our responsibility to our future. For generations people have come here to create and build opportunities. Every choice you make can make a difference. Believe in our future and act accordingly. Check out the AUSBUY Guide and ausbuy.au Share this post.
