AUSTRALIA DAY - SYDNEY The ADF will be helping celebrate Australia Day. HMAS Canberra, will be the Sydney Opera House at Circular Quay with Governor of New South Wales, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) on board. At 11:56am Governor Hurley will receive a 21-gun salute from artillery at Bradfield Park, conducted by the Australian Army’s Royal New South Wales Regiment. At 12:00pm ‘Advance Australia Fair’ will be sung, followed by a flypast over the Sydney Harbour Bridge by Royal Australian Air Force Hawk 127 lead-in jet fighters. Circular Quay, 12:08pm – A pair of Navy AS350 Squirrel helicopters will perform a ‘Squirrel Dance’ precision formation handling display. Farm Cove, 2:00pm – Army’s Red Beret parachute display team will parachute into the Harbour between Bennelong Point and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair. After being picked up from the water they will be taken to Man o’ War Steps. Darling Harbour, 7:00pm – The Navy Band will perform as part of the evening concert.
