AUSTRIA TO BAN FOREIGN MONEY FOR MOSQUES/IMAMS Law Will Mandate Unified German Translation (1 Version) of Quran --Attorney Patryk Utulu EUROPE: Austria’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Integration, Sebastian Kurz, has introduced a law that will totally ban foreign funding of mosque construction and payment of Imams in Austria. The law also mandates a unified German-language translation of the Quran. One version only!!! Austrias Parliament will vote on the law this month and other European nations are preparing to enact similar laws. The Foreign Affairs Minister said the law “became necessary to help combat Islamic radicalism, the threats posed by ISIS and other radical ideologies.” He complained that instead of assimilating in Austria many Muslims have misused Austrian liberal laws to import radical preachers from the Middle East who incite hatred and promote violence and justify it from the mosques. Austria has 8.5 million citizens and half-a-million are Muslims of Turkish or Bosnian origins. Legislators and a majority of Austrians support the new law. An influential radio broadcaster said: “We want an Islam of Austrian coinage, an Islam that is independent of influence from abroad.” A ranking ruling party legislator said: “Muslims will continue to enjoy legal protections but those who preach death and destruction wont be allowed to build new mosques with foreign money and we will no longer permit hate mongers the latitude to operate and invite lunatics to kill us in our own country.” It is true that Austria had the most “advanced institutionalization of Islam.” But public opinion has turned against Muslims due to the rise of ISIS and acts of violence, says Jose Fernandez, an expert on Islamic diaspora and assimilation in Europe. Over 50 Austrian citizens have joined jihadist groups in Iraq or Syria, says Das Biber, and people are frightened that the fighters will return to commit terrorist acts. In a highly publicized case earlier this year, two Austrian girls married Islamic State fighters in Syria. A majority of Austrians now believe that Muslims might obey ISIS instructions to Muslims to attack their home nations. Carla Amina Baghajati, a prominent Muslim rights activist and PRO for the Austrian Islamic Religious Authority said the laws shows that now “There is a general tone of mistrust toward Muslims.” She lamented it as very unfortunate. Foreign Affairs Minister and legislators are adamant to enact the law to: (1): Ban all foreign funding for construction of mosques (2): Ban use of foreign funds to pay or sponsor any Imams (3): Mandate unified translation of Quran into a German language version (4): Expand the definition of Islam to include the Alevi Islam (Shia Islam) MIDDLE EAST: Jordan’s King Abdullah has recently imposed new rules on ALL Muslim clerics to counter radicalism and ISIS recruitment. At a mandatory meeting in Az-Zarga attended by hundreds of Muslim clerics, Jordans Minister of Islamic Affairs, Hayel Dawood, ordered imams to preach moderate Islam - or else. Jordan has 7,000 mosques and 5,000 Imams who are on government payroll. Imams claim that thousands of government spies monitor and report their sermons to Dairat al-Mukhabarat al-Ammah, the (General Intelligence Directorate). Those Imams who preach moderate Islam as demanded by the Jordanian King will continue to receive their $200/month salary. Those who incite violence will definitely have an “appointment” with Jordans Dairat al-Mukhabarat al-Ammah! ARE THESE SIGNS OF TIME OR CLASH OF CULTURES? Let me hear your opinion. I write the scenes, not the tragedy!!! ******** Attorney Patryk A.
