AUTHORITATIVE PRAYER The name of the Lord (Jesus) represents authority, while the Holy Spirit represents power; all authority is in the name of the Lord, Jesus and all power is in the Holy Spirit. Philippians 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of the things in heaven, and the things in earth, and the things under the earth: And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the father. The lord Jesus Himself before His ascension told the Apostles to tarry in Jerusalem until they are endued with power from on high, He and you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, so without the Holy Spirit there is no power. Authoritative prayer is not asking God directly; it is applying Gods authority directly on the difficulty. The principal work of over comers is to bring the authority of the heavenly throne down to earth. Ordinary prayer is asking God to bind and loose, but authoritative prayer is using His authority to bind and loose. Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven; and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
