AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Ruthie was relinquished to us a month ago as a very thin stray and weighed under 60 pounds. Because of her sweet personality, she quickly became a favorite of the kennel volunteers. She is gaining weight and is now in a foster home. Ruthie is getting to know her canine siblings well. When she first came in to our care she really didnt know how to play with other dogs. Since her foster siblings have given her the 411 on playing she wants to play with them often. She also enjoys the down time of numerous frequent naps. Her age is best estimated to be around 3 years old and her playfulness seems to reflect that. She recently had a bath in her foster home, and while she wasn’t too thrilled with the idea, she did well, and really seemed to enjoy being fresh and clean afterward. She likes car rides, downtime, and curling up on the couch or a doggie mat/bed. She sleeps with the pack at night, usually on the floor beside foster mom’s bed, and more recently has started finding an available spot on the bed. She is housetrained and crate trained, but prefers to have the run of the house, and has shown she can be trusted and is well behaved in the house un-attended. She is a great door sentry and will quickly let you know if someone is nearby outside, on the porch, or at the door. After she is sure that all is well, she quickly retreats and allows her foster mom to enjoy her company. The people who found her told us she is not good around cats, and we have not yet had an opportunity to test that.
