AVIATION CAREER EXPLORING National Director: Bill Taylor Aviation Career Exploring is open to young men and women ages 14 (and completed the 8th grade) and not yet 21 years old with an interest in learning more about careers in the field of Aviation. Aviation Exploring is a hands-on program that exposes young people to flying. It offers aviation experiences, as a possible career or for the sheer pleasure of being around airplanes. The most popular Aviation Exploring careers include: Pilots Aircraft mechanics Flight Engineers Avionics Technicians Air traffic Controllers Flight Attendants Career Exploring combines some classroom training with flying lessons. You get to experience firsthand what it’s like to be a pilot, aircraft mechanic, flight engineer, or air traffic controller. You will learn Aviation policies & procedures Pre-flight lessons Airline Pilot Experiences Aircraft manufacturing Equipment You will develop Flying Skills Aviation Protocols Leadership methods Teamwork You will have an opportunity to participate in Flight scenarios Tours of airport and Aviation facilities You will have an opportunity to network with Pilots Flight engineers Air traffic Controllers Flight Attendants You will learn about the educational requirements for a career in Aviation and will receive tangible advice on steps you could take now to prepare and position yourself for a successful career in the field of Aviation. When do Aviation Explorers meet? Aviation Post 777 meets 2x per month typically on the 1st wednesday and third saturday of every month The Aviation Career Exploring program is delivered through local participating agencies such as the airports, aircraft manufacturers & government agencies. Programs are flexible enough to fit in with other activities during the year to meet the needs of the host organization and the youth participants. How much does it cost?
