AWESOME!!! Turned up, novice solo at Londonfields - sat near a tree and soon joined by 2 fellow DDs Dave Lumby and Michael Carpenter. Great company and thanks for the laminated village list. Set off at 7.45pm tagged along behind a small group and were off. Literally just followed the red tail lights, when the tails lights disappeared into darkness just kept pedalling until I hit a junction, then just waited a few minute for the next stream of riders to come along. Although on a couple of occasions small groups I was following did flounder a bit, thats when the village list came into play, without reading glasses I coudnt read it but others did. The bells chiming midnight in Finchingfield was my first indication of time (no watch :) ) arrived safely at the beach 8.44 am. By the time I checked my bike in and loaded onto truck just time for a celebratory breakfast, and walk on beach. Finally made it home 6.30pm - showered fed glass of chilled vino - bed. Woke up 5am this mornng for work, no aches pains, blisters - roll on Prudential 100. Hope Dave Lumby and Michael Carpenter had a safe journey? Lots of support and words of encouragement on the way. Who ever wrote the sign 17k to Dunwich - needs to recheck :) :) which brings me back to AWESOME night.
