AWOL is the 7th song uploaded from my Ready.Fire.Aim project. I intended to do a different song but finishing the lyrics was taking too much time. AWOL is a simple folk rock song I wrote in 2010 and while I would approach writing it now in a different way, there is something I like about it. I am reflecting a lot on authenticity at the moment, which informed the recording process. I used a different set up in an attempt to capture a natural performance, i.e. sing like no-ones listening.
