Aasiya issues stern warningto communal Buddhists; Appeals religious scholars and separatists to visit Zanskar Castigating religious scholars, clerics as well as media fraternity for maintaining silence over Zanskar issue, Chairperson Dukhtaran-i-Milat, Syeda Aasia Andrabi Monday appealed separatist outfits and Islamic organizations to raise their voice against ‘communal’ Buddhists Association of Zanskar for tormenting and suppressing Muslims in the area. Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Aasia Andrabi condemned the role of Buddhist Association as well as civil administration for taking Muslims of Zanskar to ride. “Few hundred Muslims of Zanskar who lives in minority there are being suppressedand oppressed while the civil administration is extending helping hand to Buddhist communal forces. The social boycott decree against the Muslims from Zanskar Buddhist Association has become of source of sufferings and harassment for the Muslims,” she said adding that the communal Buddhist use public address system and play music when Muslims deliver Azaan from the Masjid. Taking a strong note of atrocities committed by communal Buddhists in Zanskar, Aasiya warned those Buddhists living in Valley of prompt action against them in case communal Buddhists continue to oppress the helpless Muslims in Zanskar. “Muslims do not believe in revenge. We follow tenants of Holy Quran and never harass non-believers. Still I want to made it clear, that if communal Buddhist adhere to their policy of suppression then in that case we will chalk out a strategy and take action against those Buddhists living in Valley,”she said.
