Abaribe laments poor allocation to Abia Senate spokesperson, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, has lamented the poor allocation to Abia State from the Federation Account, describing it as an unfortunate situation, which had tied the hands of the state government and hindered development of the state. He also decried the low position of the state in the hierarchy of Niger Delta states. The senator, who said this in Aba, during his state-wide consultation ahead of his formal declaration as a Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in the state, noted that Abia State was strategic to industrial development of Nigeria. While addressing a crowd of supporters and stakeholders in Abia South Senatorial District in Rowmay Hotel at the weekend, Abaribe said Abia was located at a triangle that would attract investors. He added that with an enabling environment, the entrepreneurial spirit and industry of the people of the state would complement the effort of government. He said, “Aba is the best place in Nigeria in terms of manufacturing and trading. The made in Aba trade fair that was held in Abuja sometime last year not only exposed the ingenuity of the people, but also attest to the fact that Abia state is a veritable platform to pilot Nigeria’s industrial revolution.” Abaribe said the state governor has laid a solid foundation for the industrial development of the state and said if given the mandate he would build on it. In his response, the state Commissioner for Environment, Chinwe Nwanganga, who spoke for Ugwunagbo Local Government, said Abaribe had succeeded in the two previous elections and that the 2015 election would not be an exception. Chief Isaac Ogbonna, who spoke for Obi Ngwa Local Government said the people of the local government area believed that Abaribe was best choice for governorship. A senatorial aspirant, Chief Chris Nkwonta, stated that while Ukwa people strongly support Abaribe, they asked that the Ngwa in Abia South should cede the Senate seat to Ukwa for the sake of justice.
