Abbey Weitzeil now has a silver medal in international competition after this mornings 4 x 100 free relay at the Pan Pacific Meet. Racing with Simone Manuel, Missy Franklin and Shannon Vreeland, Abbey was the the 3rd leg of the team and split a very impressive 53.81. They were matched against an Australian team that set the Pan Pac record and will be their main adversary for the next few years. Abbey now turns her attention to the 50 free, which will have preliminaries today at 5:00 and then finals at 2:00 in the morning. For the men, Canyons graduate Anthony Ervin also swam the 3rd leg and helped his teammates of Michael Phelps, Nathan Adrian and Ryan Lochte to a silver medal. NBC will be showing some of the Pan Pac events at 12:30 today. That broadcast is likely to include the 4 x 100 relay.
