Abbots Green Army concept can be summed up like so- A choice between near-poverty, or near-poverty+a chance to suffer an injury without protection or compensation. Proletariat-noun- Someone of a lower socio-economic status that has only their labour power as material wealth, they possess no capital, and therefor need to sell their labour power in order to subsist This is what Abbott wants to make, a class of workers who have no choice but to slave away for half the minimum wage and to be discarded without any compensation, training, or workplace protection. He will exacerbate the class differences in economic inequality while consolidaring his political base by targetting those that the hardcore right wing voting block consider lazy and leeches that steal taxpayer money, such as the disabled, unemployed, and Aboriginals. Need I remind you the reason these people often need welfare or assistance is because of either A) genocide, rape, and the kidnapping of an entire generation of children, which leaves permanent scars and damage to a culture, or B) because they cant work. As for those that can work, but are unemployed, a better plan would be to offer them either proper pay and commonwealth workplace protection, or training to enable them to be eligible for a wider range of jobs.
