Abby found her forever home 3 weeks ago with her lovely new family, Chris, Derek & their daughter Penelope - and - of course - not forgetting her new canine brother Hugo. Abby came to us from a breeding establishment so everything was very new to her. But Abby soon discovered that being part of a family was simply awesome. Here is an update from Chris I was a bit nervous before coming to meet my new family because I’d spent the first 7 years of my life in a puppy farm. But I shouldn’t have worried because as we approached the house there was a big sign on the front door saying “Welcome Abby!”! That was for me!! My family was expecting me! They all made such a fuss of me giving me plenty of cuddles that I didn’t know quite who to lick first! I ran around the whole house sniffing, wagging my tail and exploring everything. Even though it was a bit scary because everything was so new and different from the puppy farm I grew up on, I had a big smile on my face because my new family were so lovely! The best bit was that I also had a new big brother to show me around and take care of me. His name is Hugo and he’s also a rescue dog! We went out into the garden and it was so exciting – we were allowed to run around on the grass and even drink water from the fish pond! I have now been a part of my new family for over 3 weeks, and I have just fitted in so well! Hugo is still trying to teach me ‘tug of war’ and about other cool doggie things such as ’chasie’ and exploring the park. I have made so many new friends in the park and there are so many new things to do – like rubbing my back on the grass and kicking my legs in the air – it makes my family laugh so I do it a lot! My family say that I act like a puppy because I show so much joy and wonder at really little things. I love shredding newspaper and chewing old plastic plant pots but my best game is helping with the laundry. I pick up the dirty clothes and Mum has to chase me around the house to catch me but she’s laughing so much I think she’s having heaps of fun too! I’m so, so lucky to have been rescued by Noah’s Bark. Because of them I have a new life where I get to be the dog I was born to be - and finally have a family to call my own and give them all the love that’s in my big doggy heart! I know my family love me heaps because they call me ‘their best girl’ and sit next to me stroking my head when I’m falling off to sleep. And the best bit … they’re always there in the morning for even more cuddles!
