Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying Verily, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people, but He takes it away by taking away (the lives of) the religious scholars till none of the scholars stays alive. Then the people will take ignorant ones as their leaders, who, when asked to deliver religious verdicts, will issue them without knowledge, the result being that they will go astray and will lead others astray. [Bukhari and Muslim] Verily, the passing of Shaykh Nazim (rahimahullah) falls into the category of those whom Allah has taken away and the departing of their knowledge is a huge loss for us. Some magnificent men of Allah have passed away in the last couple of years; shaykh Ramadan Al Bouti, Pir naseeruddin naseer, along with shaykh Nazim and many more. With every gem then passes, we as the ummah have lost another mountain of wisdom that can never be replaced. May Allah azzawajal keep our scholars among us, as surely they are our inheritance (from the Prophet). May He enable us to truly take benefit from them while they are alive, and May He preserve their legacy after they pass. Ameen
