,Abdullah bin Umar رصي الله عنهما) narrated that Allahs messenger صلي الله عليه وسلم enjoined the payment of one sa of dates or one sa of barley as Zakaat ul-Fitr on every muslims slave or free، male or female، young or old. The Amount of this type of charity is a sa، measurement of dry food which is equivalent to 3.4Kg per person of the essential staple of the country where muslim lives and pays charity. Such charity should be paid for one self and all his dependents including minnors. Abu Saeed Al -Khudri رضي الله عنه) said : We offered، during the lifetime of Prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم) ،a weight of Sa of dry food of our main staple،such as barley،raisins، cheese and dates. reported by Bukhari. Money، therefore will not substitute، for the food. Similarly، clothes، castle، food، mattresses،or any other household items are unacceptable substitutions for this type of charity in particular. Paying such a substitution for this type of charity is contrary to what has been ordained by the Prophet(صلي الله عليه وسلم) . It is reported that Allahs Messengerصلي الله عليه وسلم) stated : He، whosoever does a contrary act to what we do will get it rejected.
