Abdullahi Dahiru: Consequent to deportation of some Igbo from Lagos by the state government back to Anambra state, there has been hot debates between some Yoruba and Igbo commentators on the contribution of Igbos to the development of Lagos and Yoruba ownership of the state. I believe there is no need of this rancour and bitterness. The Hausa and Fulani people who have lived in Plateau state for centuries,have been the Sarakuna[traditional heads] of Jos for a long time have suffered from worse discriminatory policy of Plateau state government especially under governot Jang. Their houses were demolished to "expand" roads without compensation,deported from Wase and denied any previlage of a citizen. Some of these commentators that are debating over the status of Lagos have been the supporters of oppression of Hausas and Fulani in Plateau state. We cannot have peace in Nigeria until and injustice and discrimination is totally rejected whether my kinsmen are the ones affected ornot.
