Abdullahi Nasiru > FEDERAL POLYTECNIC NASARAWA OPEN LETTER TO ASUP It became very necessary to write this letter as a result of the prolonged industrial action emback upon by union which the first one commenced April 29th and lasted till July or thereabout and the second one from october 4th till date which has kept d students at home for bearly 9months.This huge amount of time and moment wasted has not only demoralized our plans but also delayed our destiny.Although, the union stands for what is just and equally obtainable in any civilized ,ideal and democratized society but it is quit unfortunate that we are going through this tumor in Nigeria. Sir,we are not so surprise that this is happening at this time because this kind of situation becomes inevitable when you have the wrong people in the right positions, you will agree with me that the system of government in Nigeria is not a true democracy but what we have is a civil rule. It is tragedic and pathetic that the same people who are now destroying the education sector are those ones who recieved education and it devident on a platter of gold.I am forced to say that the part of Nigeria national anthem that says the labour of our heroes past shall not be in vain make no sense to ordinary nigerians because already the nigeria they dream to have and that in which they have hope for is not the Nigeria we are having today. They strive very hard to see that education is brought to the door steps of a common man and as we were told by history that the people we have today at the realms of the affairs has no reputable background and their grandfathers were nobody to recon with in the society then this was justified when president Jonathan testified he has no shoe which is a clear indication that his parents were wallowing in abject poverty and if education then i s what we are having today he might have given up on eduction and may be by now he would have been known as a truck pusher. But it is a pity someone without shoe forgot what it means to walk without shoe immidiately he could afford one. A great philosopher once said that the strongest pillars what has ever held a Nation are the teachersthis ball down to my motive of writing this letter. Sir,the entire polytechnic students know at this jumction that our future means nothing to the so- called government and staying at at home till enternity will never affect them in anyways even when they claim we are leaders of tomorrow. We understand that it is not all politicans are learned and the few ones who are learned allow their selfish and egocentric interest to override their conscience. Until now sir,the students on their part are trying withing their little capacity and we will still continue to give our unwavering support to ensure that success is achieved at the end of this struggle. We equally plead with the union to kindly make a decision that will favour students resumption back to their various campuses as ASUP prepare for their meeting tomorrow being friday 7th March 2014 for we hope you understand our plight better than those mean and heartless people so that we can as well meet up with our destiny and correct the wrongs if life give us any opportunity to rise to the realms of the affairs to serve humanity. Sir, we look forward to earing a successful and a soft landing decision to alleviate the students sufferings. God bless Nigeria!God bless ASUP!God bless the future leaders.
