Abe update: His name is now Humphrey, because my daughter called him that, and he liked it. He does sort of look like Humphrey the Bear from the old Disney toons. My husband calls him Hamster. I just know thats going to stick. **Rolls eyes** Hes settling in good with the pack and trying very hard not to fight with everyone anymore. Introducing a recently neutered male is always a challenge, and we had to break up a few arguments the first few days, but my pack is masterful at working in a new kid, and the squabbles have been minor. Only Oliver still rumbles at him, which Humphrey ignores, which I like to see. 😄 He was pretty underweight when he got here, but hes eating well and whenever he wants, and loves the AvoDerm we feed, so thatll be resolved soon enough. I probably should deworm him too. Hes spoiled rotten, sleeps with us every night, goes on walks and gets lots of pets and cuddles. He even gets special alone time with his Corg-Dad in Dads office. We discovered last night that his leg injury was worse than we realized at first. He wont leave it alone, the second we take the ecollar off, hes at it again, and hes restless at night, like he cant get comfortable. So today I shaved it cleaned and gently debrided and soaked it. It was never treated properly at MoVall I think. Its now clean and wrapped and he seems already more relaxed about it, but well be repeating the cleaning and compresses every day until its 100% healed. There was good healthy pink skin underneath afterwords, so Im optimistic we will have his nubbly all fixed up by the end of the week! Tomorrow Im off to the discount store around the corner to get him his own harness and leash!
