Abomniums Top 10 Albums of 2014 Its list time, folks. I like to look back every year and pick the albums that I have enjoyed the most, which generally means those with the highest play count on my portable music box. And hasnt this just been an absolutely fantastic year for metal? I have to give a shout to Frostwork , Ageless Oblivion, Septic Flesh, Vader and Tryptikon for releases that really need to be heard alongside the following ten... This is just what I loved this year. Scar Symmetry - The Singularity A late find, (thanks to an exchange on Twitter) and Im absolutely delighted that I got a copy of it. This album just soars. Melodic DM at its absolute finest. youtu.be/8NsFx6iVOaA 9. Aghast! - All The Rage From the sublime to the, well, ridiculous is a bit strong, but this is the most fun you will ever have with DM. I confess I didnt like it first time round, but like a itchy scab it just keeps drawing you back, and each time you listen it sinks its claws into that bit further until it rides your back like a soul sucking demon... youtu.be/SuEI6y8itS8 7. Ancient Ascendant - Echoes and Cinder The change up at 1:22 of this video is a tiny slice of why I cant get enough of these chaps. This album is an ugly, scratchy and utterly catchy beast. youtu.be/mJm3J80l40k 5. Fen - Carrion Skies Oh, English black metal, how I love thy output in 2014... And Fen really bring it. The King Is Blind - The Deficiencies Of Man Nineteen seconds in and THAT RIFF hits you like a hammer. My ears think that TKIB can do no wrong. Behemoth - The Satanist There are few album of the year lists that dont include this, and for good reason. Behemoth have stormed back with an absloute beast of an album.
