Abou Fofana has just greeted his twins Kassim and Nabintou into the world. We brought you his story in June when his bid for refugee status was denied by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, who considered Fofana a war criminal. Fofana had collected tolls at a checkpoint for the Rebel Group Forces Nouvelles in his home country, the Ivory Coast. While his status is still pending, his lawyer says that having three children born in Canada may help his permanent residency request.
