About 10 till noon today, as we were driving westbound on Hwy 96 - TopicsExpress

About 10 till noon today, as we were driving westbound on Hwy 96 in the start of the ice storm, an Envoy coming from the other direction lost traction and went into a fishtailing slide at what was probably 65-70 mph. It shot down into the ditch and then was launched airborne when it hit the incline on the opposite side, flying about 30 through the air while turning sideways and partially rolling to smash roof-first into a massive corner electrical pole right over the passengers heads, upon which the male passenger was ejected (likely through the windshield) in a hail of exploding debris from the Envoy and landed quite some distance away with shredded clothes. I asked both of our girls to stay in our vehicle (since it looked like there would likely be fatalities) but let our son come out to help. Amazingly enough, both the female driver and the ejected male were conscious and lucid, she trapped under the vehicles crushed-in roof, he lying on the icy ground, but in far worse shape (he was taken from the scene Code Red). Will be watching the news tonight now to make sure they made it. Please folks, when the weather conditions are bad, SLOW DOWN. And whatever else you forget to do, dont forget to PUT YOUR SEAT BELT ON!
